Automation Test Consultant

The Test People Ltd have an immediate vacancy for an Automation Test Analyst. The objective of an Automation Test Consultant is to develop automated test scripts from documented manual test scripts. As such the Automation Test Consultant must gain a deep understanding of the functional areas assigned to them to ensure all manual tests are understood and to become an expert in the relevant business areas.

Test Consultant

The Test People have an immediate vacancy for a Test Consultant. The objective of a Test Consultant is to analyse the functional areas assigned to them to ensure all requirements are understood and to become an expert in the relevant business areas. The Test Consultant will produce complete test cases to ensure full scope and coverage has been achieved.

Performance Test Engineer

The Test People Ltd have an immediate vacancy for a performance engineer. We would also be interested in talking to recent IT graduates or strong all round IT professionals.

The QA Performance Test Engineer is responsible for performance, load resilience and other forms of technical testing of developed applications / services or Third-Party products using a range of tools to ensure they meet design specifications and performance / non-functional requirements.

The responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Performance and load tests on complex projects using technical specifications: plans, schedules and implements performance testing projects, defines performance test objectives, and writes load testing scripts. (65%)
  • Performs database verification, SQL queries to verify and create data (10%)
  • Inputs into the formulation of test plans including systems analysis, risk analysis, writing and plotting test strategies, and determines how to report test results and defects (10%)
  • Investigates and resolves technical issues in the Performance Test Environments and communicates issues with various departments (10%)
  • Other duties as assigned. (5%)

Required skills:

  • Experience with any of the following: Java, Java EE (formerly J2EE), JavaScript, C# / .Net, Python, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 server, Linux
  • Desire to get involved with: automated functional and performance testing tools; software development life-cycle; Application Server technologies (eg. WebSphere, Weblogic, .Net); Database technologies (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server) and develop a basic understanding of network architectures
  • Understanding internet and web server processes
  • Ability to learn and actively seek new skills and knowledge to keep up with the changing technology field
  • Ability to think outside the box, adapt to circumstances, learn from co-workers, and share information and experiences
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to any given situation
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently
  • Excellent customer service attitude, communication skills (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
